How does CASAFARI determine a property's location?
CASAFARI determines a property's location mainly from the source listing. It reads the location or address field, the listing title and any coordinates, analyses the description when those are incomplete, then cross-checks the result against its existing property database and map data.
CASAFARI combines several layers of checks to place each listing on the map.
1. Structured fields on the source website
The main source of location data is the website where the listing was published. CASAFARI collects and interprets these clearly defined fields:
- The Location or Address field
- The Listing Title, which may include neighbourhood or district names
- Geographic Coordinates (latitude and longitude), if the listing includes them
2. The listing description
When the structured data is incomplete or ambiguous, CASAFARI analyses the Property Description with natural language processing. It looks for mentions of nearby landmarks, street names or regional references. This refines the property’s placement, especially when exact coordinates are missing.
3. Cross-check with existing data
CASAFARI compares the extracted data with its existing property database. Any inconsistencies are flagged, and the location is validated against known address patterns and map data.
4. Additional context
CASAFARI may also use contextual information to support the location, such as proximity to transportation, neighbourhood zoning or real estate agency metadata. This improves accuracy for listings in less-documented or rural areas.
Good to know
- Coordinates are used only when the source listing provides them.
- The description is analysed when the structured fields are incomplete or ambiguous.
- If a property’s location looks wrong, contact support@casafari.com or go to Help Center > Contact Us inside the platform.
