Why Eixample Esquerra property?

Literally translated to “The Left Expansion”, the Eixample Esquerra covers a large area in the heart of Barcelona. This neighborhood is known not only for its great location, but also for its great architecture. Built according to urban planner Ildefons Cerdà’s masterful design, Eixample Esquera properties attract second home buyers from all over the world. Parts of it are decidedly swanky, others full of artsy students, and yet others feel more homey and laid-back. Living in Eixample Esquerra property means finding a little bit of something for everyone.

The Eixample Esquerra’s nearest neighbor is the Eixample Dreta, the “Right Expansion”, a continuation of Cerdà’s project. It also borders the edgy Raval district with its selection of cutting-edge museums. At the other end, you’ll find the mostly residential Sants.

Traveling to and from the Eixample Esquerra is easy, with plenty of transportation options. Additionally, the journey to the Barcelona airport from the Eixample Esquerra takes about half an hour.

Eixample Esquerra Property: what makes it special

Here, you’ll find a mix of upscale living and more affordable areas. The Cerdà plan included elements specifically designed to let plentiful light into the buildings. Many of the apartments also feature charming architectural details, as this neighborhood came about when the modernista movement was in full swing.

Some popular areas include Comte Borrel and Aragó streets, and you’ll also find many residents in spacious and modern Carrer Villarroel apartments. Properties that are located near Plaça Catalunya, Ronda Universitat, and Plaça Francesc Macià are also nice choices. Due to their glamorous locations, Portal del Angel apartments and Rambla Catalunya apartments are in particularly high demand. You’ll find a mix of international and local residents in these areas.

Properties located within these famous areas, overlooking Passeig de Gracia or the local monuments as La Sagrada Familia and Casa Battlo rise the average price of properties to €7,200 per sq. meter.
