Originally, Son Servera belonged to Artà. Within just 50 years, this small and remote population centre has grown into an important municipality highly influenced by the tourism industry.
Surrounded by an outstanding natural countryside, its traditional activities were once linked to agriculture and fishing. Nevertheless, for the recent years, Son Servera has enjoyed an enormous economic boom thanks to the flocks of visitors attracted to its magnificent coastal zone.
The centre of the municipality is the inland town of the same name, where most municipal buildings and facilities are found.
A popular resort of Cala Millor boasts a white sandy beach bathed in clear and calm turquoise water. Also, it provides many opportunities for leisure and entertainment. Despite welcoming a large number of visitors, it has a significant number of permanent residents as well.
A small coastal area of Cala Bona is located at about 3.5 km from the main town of Son Servera. Traditionally a fishing harbour, today it is surrounded by residences, renovated hotels, and shops.
